edi – Exhibition Design Institute

With a comprehensive and interdisciplinary range of study programs, the University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf (FHD) is one of the biggest universities of this type in the federal state of Northrhine-Westphalia. Approximately 7.000 students are taught and qualified by 190 professors and 100 scientific research associates in 22 different study programs at seven departments (Architecture, Design, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Media, Social Sciences and Cultural Studies and Business Studies).

The profile of FHD is characterized by application-oriented and interdisciplinary teaching closely connected to practice. FHD participates in 84 European and 43 non-European academia agreements.

FHD's design department and edi – Exhibition Design Institute have been serving as consultants and direct partners of media institutions in Germany in the field of production and design of media content, media management, vocational training of media professionals as well as enhancement of skills and competences of journalists in special interest media such as health and social minorities, disadvantaged and migrants. Prof. Uwe J. Reinhardt, Chair of Creative Writing and Head of the Exhibition Design Institute will be in charge as manager at edi – FHD for the project.
