FIOH-The Institute of Occupational Health

The Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is a multidisciplinary research and specialist institute on occupational health and safety.

FIOH is a national governmental institute covering all relevant research aspects of work life, including monitoring of working conditions, physical, chemical and biological exposures, occupational medicine, psychology and stress, epidemiology, safety and organization work.

The permanent personnel amount to almost 600.The Institute has large action programs, which include research, dissemination of information, training and specialist services. It acts as a specialist institute of the World Health Organization and the International Labour Office. FIOH participates in numerous EU-projects, and is a member of the Bilbao Agency. The Institute produces annually 400-500 international research reports.

FIOH is a member of the PEROSH group of European institutes in occupational health and safety.
